First forays

Clay has wanted to do a lemonade stand for "forever", but we don't exactly live in a high traffic area most days. On Saturday, our subdivision did its annual community yard sale, so he got his big chance. He and Bruce had taken Clay's allowance and bought all the supplies... cups, lemonade concentrate, cokes, sprites, ginger ales and bottled waters. You live and learn -- pretty much only lemonade and water sold well. Clay ended up making a few bucks, despite not selling all his drinks. Now Spencer and Allison are dreaming of their future lemonade stands.

Clay sold lemonade back at the house while I manned the yard sale, and Bruce took Spencer and Allison to their first soccer practice this year. This is Allison's first time playing, so we asked that she be placed on Spencer's team, making it a bit easier on us, running each kid to their respective practices/games. Soccer is a hit with our little princess. And it's a good thing, too, because dance classes for her were wearing us out last year. Too often, too expensive, too fru-fru!

Fish Faces

This is a cool picture that Bruce made at Ripley's Aquarium. The kids were underneath a tank of fish and the lighting was just neat. Of course the kids moved and blurred the picture, but if the kids aren't moving, then they aren't ours anyway, but pod kids sent from a galaxy far, far away.

First Attempt

This site is going to be for just our families. A place for me to jot out funny things the kids say or do, post a couple pictures now and then and just keep everyone updated on what's up with us. Hopefully, this will be easier for us to maintain than a web page was.

We just got back from a family weekend trip to Gatlinburg over Labor Day weekend. We spent an afternoon at Dollywood, a morning hiking, another morning tubing down the Little Pigeon River (I think!), a couple afternoons swimming in the community pool and our last morning touring Ripley's Aquarium.

The kids favorite thing of the whole weekend?
