Thumbs Up on Two Out of Three
We loved "Alvin and the Chipmunks". Really cute.
I'll probably be all over my kids in the next few weeks, reminding them that we don't say "butt" in our house. And the movie slipped in a "sucks" too, but I don't think the younger ones noticed, and Clay has already tried that one on me with very unfavorable results. We traded looks when that word was said, so I know he remembers.
"Reign Over Me" is wonderful. It's about friendship, grief, family and even the differences between men and women. Bruce and I both liked it.
I'm all about Adam Sandler though. He doesn't get the props he deserves for his acting.
And Don Cheadle is perfect, too. Those two together have outstanding man-friend chemistry.
If you aren't already convinced of Cheadle's talent, then you must rent "Hotel Rwanda" where he will blow you away.
We laughed out loud at certain parts in "Reign Over Me" and cried over others. There is a ton of cussing though. And one situation between Cheadle's character and a patient of his... a bit uncomfortable, but it is essential to the story.
We're passing those two movies on to my in-laws to watch tonight, and we're watching "Rendition" after the kids are in bed.
